Pomelo Points Program - Terms and Conditions
Pomelo Points Program Agreement
This agreement governs the Pomelo Points Program between you and Pomelo. By redeeming Pomelo Rewards Points or using any program feature, you accept the terms of this agreement. This version replaces all previous versions. We reserve the right to modify the Program at any time, including adding new terms, conditions, disclosures, or agreements, which will become part of this agreement. For certain changes, we’ll provide at least 30 days’ notice, or longer if required by law, as specified in the Notice of Changes. We may temporarily restrict your ability to earn points, use earned points, or access program features.
Definitions
- Program: This Pomelo Points Program.
- Points Program Agreement and Agreement: This agreement.
- Account and Card: The Pomelo Mastercard account linked to this Program.
- Bank: Coastal Community Bank, Member FDIC, which issues the Pomelo Mastercard pursuant to a license from Mastercard International.
- Pomelo: Pomelo International, Inc., a technology services provider and administrator of the Pomelo Mastercard.
- We, us, and our: Pomelo, the Bank, and their service providers.
- You and your: The person responsible for the Account.
- Rewards Points and Points: The rewards you earn under the Program.
- Purchases: Defined in the Earning Points section of this document.
- Misuse: The improper use of the Program or Card in a manner inconsistent with the terms and conditions you’ve agreed to, including this Rewards Program Agreement, the Pomelo Account Cardholder Agreement, or the terms and conditions of a third-party merchant or service provider program, through which points may be used or transferred under this Program.
Examples of misuse include but are not limited to:
- Failure to make the minimum payment on your Card when due.
- Participating in the exchange of points or the rewards obtained through the use of points.
- Repeatedly opening Accounts to generate rewards.
- Manufacturing spending to generate rewards.
Notice of Changes
We will provide at least 30 days’ notice (or longer if required by law) for the following types of changes to the Program or Rewards Program Agreement:
- Adding or increasing Program fees.
- Decreasing the Points earning rate.
- Limiting or reducing the number of Points you can earn.
- Restricting the ways Points can be used.
- Reducing the value of Points.
- Canceling the Program entirely.
Notifications requiring at least 30 days’ notice will be sent at our discretion via email, the Pomelo App, or Pomelo.com. For other changes, we’ll post an updated version of this agreement when you log in to pomelo.com/rewards. Without prior notice, we may change specific redemption options, such as product or experience availability.
Earning Points
You’ll earn Points on remittances through the Pomelo App and purchases of products and services made with your Pomelo Card, including purchases by an authorized user, if supported, minus any returns or refunds.
Transactions that do not qualify for Points:
- Balance transfers
- Cash advances or cash-like transactions, except remittances through the Pomelo App
- Traveler’s checks, foreign currency, money orders, or wire transfers (except remittances through the Pomelo App)
- Lottery tickets, casino chips, race track bets, or similar gambling transactions
- Checks that access your Account
- Interest charges
- Unauthorized or fraudulent charges
- Fees, including late fees
Points are earned when a transaction is settled, minus any returns or refunds. If returns or refunds exceed the points earned, your Point balance may become negative. You can view earned Points at pomelo.com/rewards.
You’ll earn:
- 2 points for each $1 spent with your Pomelo Mastercard, including remittances through the Pomelo App.
- 1 point for each $1 transferred using a debit source of funding.
Bonus Points:
We may offer ways to earn Bonus Points through the Program. Details will be provided at the time of the offer.
How You Can Use Your Points
You can redeem your points for available rewards, including products or services through the Program or by third parties. Additional options may be available. Redemption may be subject to point minimums or maximums, and we will inform you of these before you proceed.
Important notes:
- Once redeemed, point transactions are final.
- You are responsible for applicable taxes, fees, and shipping charges.
- We are not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged items or for merchants’ failure to honor rewards.
Gift Vouchers
Points can be redeemed for gift vouchers via the App or pomelo.com/rewards. Terms may vary by merchant, including expiration policies.
How You Could Be Prohibited from Earning or Using Points
If misuse or fraudulent activity is suspected, we may temporarily suspend your ability to earn or redeem Points.
How You Could Lose Your Points
Effective July 1, 2025: Points will expire after 24 consecutive months of inactivity.
Additional Important Information
- Points are not your property and cannot be transferred, except as specified.
- We are not responsible for disputes with authorized users.
- Merchants and third-party providers are independent and responsible for their products/services.
Liability Disclaimer:
Pomelo, the Bank, and third-party providers are not responsible for:
- Product/service quality from merchants
- Lost/stolen rewards
- Merchant failures to honor vouchers
Governing Law:
The Program is governed by federal law and the laws of Washington state.
Communications
Program-related communications will be sent via your mailing/email address or through pomelo.com or the Pomelo App. Notify us of any contact information changes.
